
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th in 1976. He grew up in the southern part of California, and was a student at Huntington Beach High School where Gonzalez was a star player on both the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez was a star in both games during his time at the University of California. He was instrumental in guiding the team's football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receptions with nine, and set it again. Gonzalez later led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament just a few months after. Gonzalez was then selected for the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as their 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was a part of the Chiefs from 1997 until 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. Gonzalez never caught less than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
